Who Cares For You?

I am a member of the Democratic Party and ascribe to most of their policies since they seem to be the Party that is concerned about “the people” rather than corporations, while the Republican Party is concerned about businesses and corporations over “people”.

Being concern about businesses may sound lofty but when does the ordinary people receive the benefit of the government “promoting the general welfare” for the working man that does not run a business or the disabled that cannot work? This is my general frame of thinking when I am thinking politically.

As most know, we just had an election on August 5th in Tennessee, and to many people’s surprise, Shelby County, that is predominately “black’ and predominately democratic, was swept by the Republican candidates. Everyone was stunned…that is, everyone that was paying attention to the event. I was among the ones that felt stunned and became very concerned about what was ‘really going on’ in this county, state, and nation! My concern, of course stemmed from the fact I am not a business owner and even if I were, I know many, many ordinary people who need the government to bend toward them when it comes to “promoting the general welfare”. They can benefit from their assistance just as well as businesses and corporations benefit from it.

It has been proven that “trickle down economic” does not work, never has and never will because human beings are just not that “nice”. Basically, if they get it, they are going to keep IT!

BUT, while pondering about the shift that seems to be happening in the nation, my mind was put at ease with these blessed words that came as a reasoning in my mind: “Black man, African Diaspora in these United States of North Americas, who have brought you thus far? Who brought you when neither party was for you? When no government was on your side, how did you come up thus far? You came up through those who cared and helped you, but they were not a part of any government party. The Abolitionists black and white, men and women fought with words of truth and indictments against a government that allowed such human atrocities to exist against God’s most esteemed and blessed creation – other human beings!

GOD and his CREW brought you. RISE UP AND DANCE! ‘ Dance with the One that brought you.’ You have the favor of God all over you. Some might say I am being presumptuous… Let’s just see …..in the END.

This does not mean He loves only the black man. “Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in his sight.” To all…God says, “Take the Limits Off”! Remember to “dance with the one who brought you” to the dance.
